Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of Voice Recorder — Novaz (the “App”) and our website (together, the “Services”). Our Privacy Policy also applies. By using the Services, you agree to these Terms; if you do not agree, do not use the Services. We may revise these Terms, and continued use after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

The Services

Voice Recorder — Novaz records audio on your iPhone or iPad, and lets you mark moments while recording, trim and cut, merge, compress, apply voice effects, reduce noise, add background music, transcribe speech to text, and organize what you have recorded. Our website provides information and how-to guides.

Recording other people is your responsibility

Laws on recording conversations differ by country, state and region. Some require the consent of every person being recorded, and many workplaces and institutions have their own rules. You are solely responsible for obtaining any consent you need and for complying with the law where you are. Do not use the Services to record anyone unlawfully, or to harass, intimidate or invade the privacy of any person.

What the App cannot do

iOS does not give any third-party app access to phone call audio or to the audio of other apps, and it provides no MP3 encoder. The App therefore cannot record phone calls or another app’s output, and records in M4A or WAV rather than MP3. We say so plainly because no update can change it.

Your recordings are yours

Recordings, transcripts, marks and tags are stored in the App’s own folder on your device. We never receive them and we claim no rights over them. Editing replaces or copies files as you choose — check the preview before you replace an original, and keep your own backups of anything important. Deleting the App removes its folder and everything in it.

Your responsibilities

  • You may use the Services only if you are 13 years or older.
  • You are responsible for the content you record or import and for having the right to record, keep, edit and share it.
  • You are responsible for any music or other audio you add to a recording, including having the right to use it.

Purchases and subscriptions

Voice Recorder — Novaz PRO is an auto-renewing subscription, offered yearly or weekly with a 3-day free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase and is processed by Apple; trials, renewals, cancellations and refunds are subject to Apple's terms. A subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. If you start a free trial, you will be charged when it ends unless you cancel before then. Manage or cancel at any time in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.

Transcription

Speech recognition is provided by iOS. Where your device and language support it, recognition runs on your device; otherwise iOS sends the audio to Apple's service under Apple's terms. Transcripts are produced automatically and will contain errors — do not rely on one as a verbatim record without checking it against the audio.

Intellectual property

Novaz and its licensors own the Services. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use them for your own personal purposes in accordance with these Terms. iPhone, iPad, Siri, AirDrop, iCloud, Shortcuts and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. Voice Recorder — Novaz is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple Inc.

Acceptable use

You agree not to — or attempt to —:

  • decipher, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer the software, except to the extent permitted by law;
  • interfere with or disrupt the Services;
  • violate any applicable law, or encourage anyone else to.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY RECORDING, EDIT OR TRANSCRIPT WILL BE COMPLETE OR ACCURATE, OR THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NOVAZ WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF RECORDINGS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITATIONS, SO THEY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

Governing law and general

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Novaz, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
