Share a recording from your iPhone
A recording is an ordinary audio file, so anything that takes a file takes it: Mail, Messages, WhatsApp, Slack, Files, AirDrop, a cloud drive.
Share one recording
- Open the recording in the player, or find it in the list.
- Tap Share.
- Pick a destination from the iOS share sheet.
- The file keeps its name and format.
Share several at once
- Open the recordings list and switch on selection.
- Tick the recordings you want.
- Tap Share in the action bar at the bottom.
- Send them together, or save them all to a folder in Files.
When it's too big to send
- Trim the dead air first — free, and sometimes enough on its own.
- Compress a copy: an hour of speech fits comfortably at 64 kbps mono.
- Save to iCloud Drive and send a link instead of the file.
- Send the transcript when the text is what the other person actually wants.
FAQ
- What gets shared — audio only?
- The audio file. Marks and transcripts live in the app's library, so share the transcript separately if you need it.
- Can the person I send it to open it?
- Yes. M4A and WAV play on iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows without anything extra.
- How do I get a recording onto my computer?
- AirDrop to a Mac, or save it to Files and open that folder from a computer. The app's folder is also visible in the Files app directly.
